Two Oceans Marathon
Two Oceans Marathon - 21km Half
“The world's most beautiful (half) marathon” - a well supported and often sold out event, you’ve done well to grab an entry to this popular race! The 21k follows a stunning suburban route through tree-lined avenues and scenic windy roads through the quiet Cape neighbourhoods.
Everyone is short on time these days, be it social events, work or family commitments (or all of the above) and that’s why here at Float we train smart, not hard. Our Two Oceans Marathon training plan for the 21km half race consists of 12 weeks of focused training, maximising your running fitness in minimal time.
The plan is broken up into 4 distinct training blocks: BASE, BUILD, PEAK, and finally TAPER & RACE. As we progress through the plan,we build up towards faster finish tempo sessions with numerous hill sets built into your weekly training. Your legs will need prepping for those two big climbs up Edinburgh Drive and Southern Cross Drive - our hill sets will have you primed to obliterate those sections come race day.
Our plans also cater for sufficient time between training sessions to help the body rest and recover and prevent injury whilst increasing longevity. Recovery is a key part of the training; recovery is important!
Every workout is curated to get the best out of you, slowly building up strength to take on the distance and enjoy it at the same time.
Make no mistake, by no means is this an easy plan but for those short on time and want to maximise your efforts, then this is the plan for you. Come train with us and let’s smash the Two Oceans Marathon Half together!
