Miles for Moms - 5km

Miles for Moms and Float are pleased to introduce this 5k coaching plan for those running and supporting this great cause!

Our 5k plan involves 8 weeks of walk & run coaching along with (almost) daily advice and wisdom to help you reach your 5k goal.

Often when getting into exercise we can overdo it initially and end up quitting or hating every minute, we feel defeated and “throw in the towel” not long after starting the journey. We aim to fix this by mixing up your sessions into bite sized chunks and slowly building up both your confidence and fitness as we go, and being there for you every step of the way!

We start with a varied mix of warm up efforts and introduce short running bursts and up the ante as the weeks progress. Our goal is to have you fit enough to run for 30 mins over a 5k course by the end of the program and enjoy the process as much as possible.

Thanks for taking this step towards breast cancer awareness and whilst you’re doing your bit we’ll be doing ours by donating the majority of this training plan fee to Miles for Moms and their amazing cause!

Miles for Moms

Miles for Moms - 10km

For those of you taking on 2 loops of the course, Float Running Co. is pleased to introduce this 10k coaching plan in partnership with Miles for Moms to help you tackle both loops and support this great cause!

Our 10k plan involves 8 weeks of walk & run coaching along with (almost) daily advice and wisdom to help you reach your 10k goal.

Even if you have 5km experience, you run the risk of overdoing your training initially and end up quitting or hating every minute not long after starting the journey. We aim to fix this by building up your fitness slowly and mixing up your sessions into bite sized chunks as we go, whilst being there for you every step of the way for encouragement and advice.

We start with a varied mix of warm up efforts and introduce short running bursts and up the ante as the weeks progress. Our goal is to have you fit enough to run without break for 60 mins over a 10k course by the end of the program and enjoy the process every step along the way.

Miles for Moms

Miles for Moms - 20km

Four loops of the 5km course? You better be ready for this, and Float Running Co. in partnership with Miles for Moms will make sure you are!

Our 20k plan involves 8 weeks of run coaching along with (almost) daily advice and wisdom to help you reach your 20k goal.

But please note, this is an intensive 8 week plan and we aim to build on your running experience and only recommend this plan for runners who can easily complete a 5 or 10km run (fairly) comfortably.

If you’re unsure if this plan (or distance) is right for you, please contact us via the button below ASAP so we can advise.

In this 8 week plan we build on your existing fitness and bring in some sessions specifically designed at increasing your endurance, strength, and speed.

Our goal is to have you fit enough to run strong for 2 hours over the 20k course by the end of the program and have enough energy at the end for a celebratory beer or two (the Float way).

You’re on your own for this one…

Hah, not a chance! But in all honesty 8 weeks is waaaay too short for us to guarantee a good training program and we’d rather not risk your fitness and health by pushing you too hard.

So for this year we don’t have a plan for this distance, but next year we will start earlier and promise to get you ready in time.

If you have taken on this epic challenge distance, we’ve agreed with Miles for Moms to be your on-call training advisors, happy to provide any and all advice to help you tackle the course.
